ABOUT THE STUDIO
Nestled in the heart of the Methow Valley, Alpenglow Supply Co. is an eco-conscious, outdoor-inspired small business based in Winthrop, Washington. Founded by designer Spencer Beck, the business began in early 2022 as Beck Printing Company, with a focus on producing stickers, cards, and home goods for both local businesses and personal retail. Originally envisioned as a production-oriented venture, it quickly evolved into a creative studio centered on original designs and sustainable values.
In June 2023, the business rebranded as Alpenglow Supply Co. (more commonly just 'Alpenglow'), a name inspired by the soft pink light that touches mountain peaks at sunrise and sunset. This natural phenomenon reflects the quiet magic of the outdoors – something Alpenglow strives to capture in every product.
Today, Alpenglow offers a curated collection of thoughtfully designed goods, including stationery, stickers, glassware, hats, and eco-friendly office and shipping supplies. Every product is created with sustainability in mind, using recycled, recyclable, and plastic-free materials. Shipping is carbon-neutral through Shopify Planet, and the business actively supports environmental and community-focused nonprofits like the Methow Valley Fund, Methow Valley Citizens Council, and Washington’s National Park Fund.
Spencer's work under the Alpenglow name has been featured in the Confluence Gallery in Twisp, Washington. -

ABOUT THE MAKER
Hi, I’m Spencer Beck, the creator behind Alpenglow. While I’ve always been drawn to the outdoors and the arts, the path that led here wasn’t exactly linear.
I grew up in Sammamish, Washington, surrounded by forests, rivers, and mountain views that sparked a lifelong love for nature, fueled even further by my parents who took me camping and hiking nearly every weekend. I went on to study physics and math at Linfield College in Oregon, and after graduating I worked in the environmental science industry. It was steady work, but ultimately unfulfilling and overly stressful. On my birthday in 2022 (literally on the day), I made the difficult but necessary decision to resign for the sake of my mental health, even without another job lined up. (I'm endlessly grateful to my wife who supported us through that leap.)
That time gave me the freedom to return to art, which is something I've loved all my life. I took a variety of art and photography classes in high school and college, but had never pursued it professionally. What began as a creative reset gradually turned into something more.
Alpenglow became my way to connect with both nature and the people who make this place feel like home. I first started coming to the Methow Valley in 2014, and over the years, I found my community here. Since moving full-time, that connection has only grown stronger. Quiet trails, mountain sunsets, blooming arrowleaf, and burbling rivers continue to shape the work I do and the life I love living here.

Pictured: Spencer standing in front of his piece "Ghost Ridge" in the Confluence Gallery in Twisp, Washington. 2024.
"Ghost Ridge" (2024) captures the essence of resilience amidst destruction. Created by physically slicing off the sky from a photograph of a local ridge in Twisp, Washington, and burning the edges, the artwork mirrors the impact of wildfires on the Methow Valley community. The burned edges form a haunting "ghost ridge," symbolizing the enduring presence of nature despite being scarred by fire. This piece reflects the community's earth-conscious ideology, emphasizing the need to live in harmony with nature and respect its formidable forces. This piece is currently for sale.

WHERE YOU'LL FIND ME:
- Hiking around the Methow Valley
- Exploring old Forest Service roads for views and camp spots
- Taking photos with my Olympus EM-1 II (digital micro-4/3 camera) or Canon AE-1 (film camera)
- Pursuing culinary excellence (e.g. watching my wife make handmade pasta as I prepare the sauce)
- Horking down an affogato from the Little Dipper in Winthrop, or grabbing a Nutella cookie to go
- Enjoying a glass of wine from RYZO (local winery!) on the deck, listening to the birds and frogs, watching the line of light move up the ridge as the sun goes down
